The North Route would begin at Holt Park and provide a new Park & Ride site at Bodington (just outside the Leeds Outer Ring Road). It would travel into Leeds along the A660, through Lawnswood, Headingley, Hyde Park and would pass both Universities.
The specific options relating to the Woodhouse Moor section of the North Route can be viewed here.
The map to the right shows our preferred route in orange, or you can view a larger aerial view (JPEG) of the route.
Our Preferred Option is for an NGT-only link road behind the Headingley section of Otley Road, separating trolleybuses from general traffic.
Key issues:
- No congestion on new NGT-only link– so more reliable journeys;
- NGT stop located behind the Arndale Centre (at Wood Lane);
- NGT-only link would have less impact on noise levels and air quality; and
- Some loss of biodiversity and trees
The images below show Headingley Hill now (on the left), and as it could look.
