Investing in Public Transport: A Framework for Leeds

A summary of a technical report analysing how NGT fits within the wider public transport context is now available.

Leeds City Council and Metro have recently completed a technical report setting out how proposals for the New Generation Transport (NGT) scheme fit within the wider strategic context of future public transport investment in Leeds.

The report analysed a wide range of data, both to obtain a better understanding of existing transport issues and problems, as well as to identify how these problems can be best addressed in the future.

The findings of the report, which have been endorsed by the Department for Transport, indicate what type of public transport measures would be appropriate for each of the main routes into Leeds, including which corridors are most suitable for a rapid transit (NGT) solution.
